I have benefited greatly from the ministry of Pastor Dr Charles Hart in that all seven members of my family of origin came to know the Lord through the Annotto Bay Gospel Chapel, the last Assembly that Bro Hart established in Jamaica. My two sons Timothy and Nathanael came to know the Lord through that Assembly also and my wife Velda and I have been serving as Full-Time Accredited Ministers at that Assembly for the last 27 years. The foundation that Bro Hart has laid remain strong and the seed that he has sown continue to bear fruit. My family and I join with the many believers of the North-Eastern Missionary Conference and the Christian Brethren Assemblies Jamaica to celebrate the tremendous work of Bro. Charles I Hart, pastor par excellence, pioneer missionary, planter of churches, passionate Bible teacher, powerful preacher, pace-setter and personal friend and mentor to many. May his exemplary life and excellent work help to energize us to “run with patience the race that is set before us” to the glory of God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.

My Uncle Charles was a stalwart for God, He always had a word to encourage and lift you, but always wanted to know of you had a relationship with Jesus Christ. I truly miss him and am forever indebted to him and Aunt Dilys for their love and care shown to me during my stay in their home in the 70's. May God grant Aunt Dilys and family the strength to go on. Rest well Uncle Charles!!

I met Bro. Charles Hart and his family in Highgate, St. Mary in the late 1960’s. Our family had moved from Kingston to reside in Highgate, St. Mary. Bro Charles saw that we were new in the area and introduced himself to us, girls. He introduced us to the church he was leading – Highgate Gospel Hall - and invited us to attend. He religiously picked us up from our home, took us to church and took us back home. He continued to mentor and disciple us, and in 1968, just as I was about to sit the GCE examinations, three of us accepted the Lord Jesus as our personal Saviour. Bro. Charles conducted the instruction class for new believers who wanted to be baptized. At each class he stressed, “If you really love the Lord!”. To this day, I have always remembered those six words! I can still hear him saying them!! The love, attention and dedication of Bro. Charles augured well in nurturing us pertaining to our Christian life. I have cherished those formative years of my life and thank God that he provided Bro. Charles to bring Jesus into our lives. We have all continued to keep the faith, serving the Lord. Bro. Charles was also the minister who conducted my marriage ceremony. I frequently look at his signature in the marriage document. I am deeply saddened by his passing, but God has spoken! He has taken our dear Bro. Charles into Paradise! My sincerest condolences and love to Sis. Dilys and the entire family. Please stay strong and remember that your beloved Bro. Charles is safe in the arms of Jesus. He has fought a good fight, he has kept the faith, he has finished the course! To God be the glory!!

To God be the glory for the life of Pastor Charles Hart and for the good work he has done. I had the privilege of meeting Pastor Charles when I was 9 years old. We were at the magical, wondrous place called Star Lake Salvation Army Camp in Bloomington, NJ, (anyone who was there during that time will know what I mean) and he specifically instructed us young ones to call him 'Pastor Charles'. I learned a new word that week (July 3-10, 1982) through his thematic message: RECONCILIATION. And fittingly, I (along with my brother, Taiwo, and my cousin, Kwesi) was moved to reconcile my soul with Christ, to decide to walk with him in my heart each day, and to accept Him as my Lord and personal Savior. I did through Pastor Charles' guidance and haven't looked back since that wonderful time at Star Lake, one single week 37 years ago which has remained so pivotal in my life, a week in which Pastor Charles was so central. While I was saddened to hear that "sweet, sweet spirit" Dr. Charles Hart is no longer with us, it is with heart-filled bliss and confidence that I know - with his work here now done - he has gone on to celebrate eternally with our Lord. Thank you, Pastor Charles. To God Be The Glory! Kehinde Rainford

"There’s a sweet, sweet spirit in this place and I know that it’s the spirit of the Lord” Thank you God for blessing us with a pastor like Brother Charles who had such a genuine sweet spirit and profound words of encouragement. Whenever I visited Philadelphia and attended GCA, I could always rely on his smile, a comforting hug and a soft pat on my hand as he spoke with me. He demonstrated to me and to my family the love of Jesus.
